Today.
So, Today was long and I normally do not post only text here, but I feel like typing.
I had another photo meet up where I explained my encounter with Carroll and Sons, where I had a less than stellar talk.
I basically hashed through what my artist statement was. Where I have brought it to, which was first long and drawn out, then revised cut up and reduced to nothing.
I’ve found that I need to find a middle ground that leads the viewer into my work without dragging them there, or adversely I cannot just throw the images at them and expect them to understand my thinking.
I am so accustomed that people should understand my nature by default since my thinking is my thinking, to me everything is logical and works out, but translating that to others has never been easy. Hell Its still not easy.
So I’m here right now, listening to music after writing another artist statement that hopefully draws you in. Is it too easy to name this series “Catharsis?”
At night, the world around me temporarily stops. People go home, businesses, the world rests for the night. My surroundings become a clean slate. Once falling upon a scene, deja vu captivates me. Conscious and subconscious meet. I step into the frame to connect the dots between these two states of mind.
Here is a shot or two from my trip to Rockport, MA with a few friends.
Its Dec. 1. I wanted to finish this body of work by today. These are the last of the images for this goal. I have sent out the photos today to get prints. I have 20 exactly. I don’t think this body of work is over. I think this is the best rough draft of a body of work I have right now. I want to continue with it further. But for all intents and purposes, my goal has been met. I will have a body of work to bring to Carrol and Sons in a few weeks. I have to finish up a few things for my grad school submission. After that, I don’t know. If I get into grad school great, if I don’t, Then I’ll have to figure out what I’m doing from there.
Either way I’ve set a goal to accomplish while not being in an education setting and I’ve completed the goal to the T of when I wanted to have it done. I hope AIB’s chair sees that I’ve been busy.

So, I’ve been trying to nail down an artist statement. Its not coming as quickly as I’d like it to. My goal is to tackle it by a few days from now. We shall see. Also I am about a third of what I’d like to have in terms of images. Im really liking what I have but I must press on to attempt to achieve having 15-20 images. Anyways, new image. I have more, but I’m still fiddling with them. :)
